Laevateinn is Loki’s weapon, the “wounding wand” mentioned in the Poetic Edda and kept beneath the gates of the dead. Some scholars believe it’s a flaming sword. Others claim it killed Baldr. What’s certain: this is the blade that embodies fire, betrayal, and the end of all things. Loki himself defied every boundary. Shapeshifter. Trickster. Neither god nor giant. He engineered Baldr’s death, fathered the monsters of Ragnarök, and was ultimately chained beneath the earth with serpent venom dripping onto his face as punishment. This piece captures that entire legacy in silver.

The blade features intricate Norse knotwork, the serpentine Loki symbol pattern, and runes spelling LÆVATEINN (ᛚᛅᚢᛅᛏᛅᛁᚾ). The Binding of Loki symbol marks the hilt, the moment of his eternal torment. Three fire patterns pulse across the design, echoing the flames of Ragnarök. The obverse brings Loki’s punishment to life. The full Binding of Loki scene is rendered in intricate detail, Loki bound in chains, serpent venom dripping onto his writhing form, capturing the moment of his eternal torment. But Loki’s true power lives through his children, each carved in stunning detail: Fenrir, the wolf who devours Odin. Jörmungandr, the World Serpent destined to kill Thor. Sleipnir, the eight-legged steed born when Loki became a mare. And Hel, ruler of the dishonored dead. Every monster. Every betrayal. Every consequence.

This 1-ounce .999 pure silver collectible measures 120 x 34 mm with shaped, antiqued ultra-high relief finishing – mirrorsing the “Gungnir” design language, stylistic continuity across the series, while the snakeskin handle and chaotic imagery mark Loki’s counterpoint to Odin’s order. Limited to 540 pieces in reference to Valhalla’s gates. Loki’s sword is the second in Scepter’s Norse weapons collection. Gungnir brought precision. Laevateinn brings the fire.
