The Pharaoh Hound, featured in the latest release from the series dedicated to the symbols of Malta, is one of the most distinctive dog breeds associated with this Mediterranean country. The coin was designed by Natalia Danysz, who combined modern artistic vision with motifs inspired by Malta’s rich heritage. Carefully refined details and a thoughtfully balanced composition emphasize the unique character of the featured breed.

The ennobled 2026 Malta Maltese Pharaoh Hound 10 Euro 2-ounce Silver BU High Relief coin was minted in a limited mintage of only 500 pieces and is available with a Certificate of Authenticity, presented in an elegant wooden display.

The obverse presents a profile portrait of the Pharaoh Hound, highlighting the breed’s characteristic features – its slender head, long ears, and short coat. The background is decorated with a pattern of rays radiating from the central part of the design, evoking solar symbolism and the ancient origins traditionally associated with the breed’s name. An important element of the composition is also the Maltese cross, an inseparable symbol of Malta’s history.
